We constantly hear of the need for rural broadband, and how our elected officials recognize that need and support all efforts to make it happen. Towns and local broadband committees have worked for years to solve this problem, yet with few exceptions nothing much happened.

Why? Because until now, there were simply no cost-effective solutions for last mile distribution. Let's review the options, then and now (and the sad state of middle-mile fiber).

My wife works from home and uses the service all day long, while I run multiple businesses that rely on it. In the evening we use it to watch Netflix! We also have rental properties which would not be viable without this service. The customer suppor that Fred Engelman provides is outstanding.

Adirondack Internet has brought our family into the 21st century. Before Adirondack Internet came to Gull Bay we were utilizing 'dial up' service which was extremely slow and not at all dependable. Now, with Adirondack Internet, our wireless service is extremely fast, dependable and allows us to operate multiple computers while streaming movies from Netflix. Adirondack Internet is very easy to set us and support service is excellent. Thank goodness for Adirondack Internet. Adrienne Wilson

Defining broadband seems to be a matter of perspective. Most people would agree that a fiber connection delivering tens of megabits per second (Mb/s) is certainly broadband. Those trying to survive on dialup would consider a reliable 2 Mb/s connection as broadband, while others would call that just high speed.

Like everything else, there's more to it than meets the eye.
